My Story
My name is Kim Shaw. I have been a School Counselor for the last 10 years. I graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a minor in English. I then went on to Villanova University, where I earned a Master of Science degree in Counseling and Human Relations. I am certified in Elementary and Secondary School Counseling in the states of Pennsylvania, Virginia and Maryland. I interned at Tredyffrin/Easttown School District in Pennsylvania at Valley Forge Middle School. I worked for 9 years as an Elementary School Counselor at Collegium Charter School in Exton, Pennsylvania. I worked as an Elementary School Counselor at a National School of Character, Lyles Crouch Traditional Academy, in Alexandria, Virginia for 1 year. I am pleased to be returning to Pennsylvania AND middle school counseling and will start at Exeter Township Junior High in the 2014-2015 school year.
I read ALL the time. I LOVE books. I run a book club in Chester & Montgomery County, Pa:

This is my first attempt at blogging. I created this blog to share my thoughts on books related and unrelated to counseling. There is nothing more powerful than bibliotherapy. Books teach us so many things! I also wanted to share counseling lessons, musings and materials. Welcome to my blog!
